Near complete SIGNED and INSCRIBED portfolio set of 29/30 etchings by Rudolph Charles von Ripper (Connecticut, Hungary, Austria 1905 - 1960). Portfolio titled 'With the 34th Infantry Division in Italy: A Portfolio of 30 Etching', New York, 1947, limited edition. This set is numbered 23 and signed by von Ripper. It is also inscribed by von Ripper 'To Nina and Max - in alter freundschaft - Rip' ('in old friendship'). Missing etching is #7 - 'We came upon the first case of atrocities committed by the Germans...' All etchings in set are printed on heavy art paper loosely stored in cardboard, green cloth covered, portfolio.
