This work contains a full account of the activities of the infantry and cavalry regiments of Kansas including those units seeing service on the western frontier. Contains a mine of information on every Kansas regiment that saw action during the War Between the States. Includes, 21 regiments of which two were colored infantry units, 10 were Cavalry, 6 were regular infantry, and three were Batteries. This author also created the first directory of Council Bluffs, and the first history of Leavenworth. 1870. Presumed 1st edition. W. S. Burke, Leavenworth. This copy has been rebound. and original sheets include 2 free flysheets in the front, Title page (verso is blank) followed by 3-464 pp. + 2 index pp. and 2 free flysheets in the back.
